Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany
w/ side trip to Neuschwanstein Castle

September 20th-24th and 29th-30th

Myself, Jesse & Lisa, Paula & Miguel, Gerald, Amanda, Conroy, Nuke, Irmina, Jim, and Tom set off for Germany and Czech Republic.

We arrive at the Munich Airport and go through customs.  Con and G get their very first stamp in their passports.

Day 1 we get to the hotel.  We drop off our bags and head to the English Beer Garten (walking/stumbling distance from the hotel).  This becomes a very popular place for us to go as they have beer and food and live music.

We arrive at Oktoberfest for opening day.  There is a parade.  We scope out the lay of the land and figure out how to get beers (our first beer being purchased by a teenager from Fairfax, VA, oh the irony).

We take a day away from drinking and rent a BMW and a minivan to drive to Neuschwanstein Castle.
