Naples & Pompeii:
June 10th through June 11th
Naples was probably the worst city that we visited. Everything around the train station was under construction. They are putting in a subway system and the town is not in good shape right now. We did find that the further away from the train station we got, the nicer Naples became. From the bay of Naples, you can see Mt. Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri.
We didn't spend a lot of time in Naples but did walk down along the piers and up the coastline to the Castle of the Egg.
The next day, we checked our bags into a locker and took a train to Pompeii. We spent the day walking around the ruins with Mt. Vesuvius looming in the background.
That night, we took a sleeper train to Venice.
