Europe 2005:
This is just a (very) brief overview of my trip to France & Italy. I took over 600 pictures (and Amanda took another 500+) and learned very early on that there was no amount of pictures that could truly show everything that was there to see. Every turn brought something new to admire and enjoy. The food and wine was excellent. With all the walking and running around, I lost 10 pounds even with everything we ate. I was glad to come home but am ready to get back over there to see more. Obviously, there are many more stories, memories, and pictures to go along with this site. If you want to know or see more, just ask :)

The standard travel attire:
A common site around Italy is the Smart Car (as well as mopeds or vespas). This car is almost as wide as it is long and was commonly found parked in every crevasse that we could see.
The hostel experience:
We stayed exclusively in hostels. I wasn't sure what to expect as most of
what I had heard about hostels was that they were very similar to college
dorms. All of the places (with the exception of Venice) that we stayed, we
had a "Private En Suite" room. This meant we got our own room
with a private bathroom. None of the rooms or bathrooms were very spacious
but they did the trick.
In Venice, we stayed at a camp ground that rented everything from tents to private cabins to dorm type cabins.
We also spent one night in a Eurail Sleeper car. This was probably the worst night of sleep of any.
