November 2010

We had an exciting month.  Not only did we take a week long trip to China but we got our first tooth (front, lower, right) and have pulled ourself up to a standing position on our own.  We also went swimming for the first time.  Okinawa in November is a great time.  The weather is still in the upper 60s/lower 70s and there is no humidity.

Leah enjoys playing in her exisaucer, play pen, rocker, and on the couch as well as with her ducks in the bath.  She also enjoys removing all her books from the bottom shelf of the coffee table.

We took Leah to a Hibachi restaurant where she loved watching the chef cook.

We went to China for a week around Thanksgiving.  We got to see Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai.  We borrowed a back-pack that Leah could sit in from our friends for the trip.  It worked out very well as Leah got a free ride through China.  She slept through the hiking of the Great Wall and parts of the Forbidden City among others.

Leah loved the "no carseat" policy in China and took full advantage of it on the bus.

This is the mascot for the World Fair that was held in Shanghai this past summer.

Leah made sure she had the safety instructions down for our flight home.

While in China, we saw what our guides called the 7th Wonder (Great Wall) and 8th Wonder (Terra-cotta warriors) of the world.  As we took our tours, I figured out that Leah is the 9th Wonder as everywhere we went, more people seemed to forget about what they were seeing and focus on Leah and take her picture and try to pick her up.  Even on the Great Wall, in the Forbidden City, at the Terra-cotta Warriors, and in Yu-yuan Market.  I started taking pictures of people who were more interested in Leah.  This is by far a small sampling of those people :)

Our hotel in Shanhai had an indoor, heated pool so we took Leah for her first swim.  She loved it.

We also have a video web site that we periodically post videos to.  If you would like to be included in the site, send us an email and we can add you to the list.

Next month we fully expect to tell you all that she has started crawling and possibly even taking her first steps.
